Books are heavy. A 1 m oak shelf without reinforcement sags 6 mm over a decade under a full load of hardcovers — most off-the-shelf bookcases simply ignore this. We route a hidden steel reinforcement strip into the underside of long shelves, which drops the sag to under 1 mm.

Floating shelves get a steel rod or flat-bar bracket sunk into the wall and a sleeve drilled into the back of the shelf so it slides home cleanly. Wall fixings sized for the actual material — a poured concrete wall is a different problem from a hollow drywall, and we test the fixing in your wall before final mount.

For floor-to-ceiling library walls we offer a rolling library ladder on a brass rail. The ladder runs in a single stroke from end to end and the wheels are polyurethane-tyred so it rolls quietly.
